STAGED READINGS
Once a script has had a table reading with The Drawing Board, its writer becomes eligible to submit a proposal for a staged reading.
If selected for a staged reading, we match the project with a director. The two collaborate, along with a host, to cast the piece. Space is provided for several rehearsals, as needed. The Drawing Board also provides a performance space, such as The Players, and marketing for the Staged Reading. Staged Readings are for the public, and we encourage producers and other industry professionals to attend.

"As a playwright working to keep a prematurely born play alive, I found The Drawing Board to be a wonderful incubator. First-rate actors read with great passion, wit, and understanding for members whose feedback was constructive, insightful, and, best of all, encouraging. When asked if I’d consider their doing a public reading at The Players I didn’t hesitate as I felt the play was in excellent hands. A year after its first tentative breath, Provenance had an expertly produced reading for a full and appreciative public audience. The play is now fully alive and kicking, growing stronger, and waiting to take its next steps. Thanks to The Drawing Board for making that happen in such a healthy, positive and supportive incubating environment."
