WORKSHOPS
Once a script has had a table reading with The Drawing Board, its writer becomes eligible to submit a proposal for a one-day workshop.
If selected for a workshop, The Drawing Board matches the writer with a director. The two collaborate to clarify the writer's goals for the workshop and to select specific material from the script for exploration. The writer is then provided with a cast and rehearsal space. The length of a workshop may vary based on the writer's goals and a script's needs. Workshops are not open to the public.

"I think the greatest strength of The Drawing Board is the tremendous artistic accomplishment of its actors and their willingness to engage fully with new material. It was invaluable to me to see these characters come to life. Because everyone was so ready and prepared to work, we were able to examine the intimate nature of the modern scenes, as well as the panoramic scope of the historical ones. And I think we got a sense of how the two styles could start to overlap, shift, evolve, and co-relate, in telling a single story. The Drawing Board is a fantastic place to bring a new idea and watch a play take flight."
